Dear Classmates of 1963.

I have written a book entitled, ASSORTED NUTS, A FAMILY ALBUM which will be released to major bookstores and online websites (i.e.: Amazon.com) as of November 17, 2009. I hope you will read it.

It is a humorous memoir which includes my experiences with the quintessential dysfunctional childhood, three husbands, breast cancer and alcoholism. (Yes, I did say humorous). It also includes several chapters about my life at Brownell Junior High School and good ole GPHS. Deane Malchie Preston, Janey Walker Meade, Karen Amluxen Harlan, and Jan Wenzel Rehmann all make cameo appearances.

For the thirteen of you that might actually remember me, my name is Sandy Chapel Bax. If you buy my book, THANK YOU. If you like my book, please make a note on facebook.com so I can show the bookstores how popular I am when the release date arrives.

You can purchase a pre-released copy now by logging onto: http://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore/book.php?w=978-1-60799-975-1

Wishing you tears of laughter. Sandy

I would have graduated with GPHS class of '63, had we not moved back to Buffalo, NY, the summer before my junior year. I graduated from Amherst Central HS, Snyder, NY, in 1963, but Grosse Pointe is where my heart was and still is. The memories come clearer and dearer the older I get. When is the next reunion? I would so love to see my old GPHS friends at least once more.

Swear to God this is true.  I just saw Doug Blatt at the Pancake House.  I asked if I would see him this weekend at the reunion.  He looked at me.  Looked at me.  And looked at me.  He calmly said, "Jo, the reunion was last weekend."  Guess this means I win the Alzheimer's Award.  So, I thinking I'll see you all in 5 years.  OR, if anyone's around and doesn't have anything to do THIS weekend, I'm available.  I have a hair appointment etc.!  I amaze myself.  I hear you all had a great time.  I'm just shaking my head.

Hello everyone - -
We are sorry we cannot attend the reunion.
We will be in Germany for a wedding.
John and I have been married 42 years, and
have two beautiful children, Gretchen Jean Rust Hebert, her husband Jim and two beautiful children, Harold James Hebert III  7 (although we call him Harry); and Caroline Halsig Hebert age 5.  Our son
John Howard Rust III is married to Bethany and they have two beautiful children John Howard Rust IV 6, and Olivia Irene Rust 3.
I have my Masters in Nursing and my husband has his Doctorate in engineering. In addition to our regular jobs, we also own our own real estate business, both commerical and residental, a care wash and storage units.  I also own a partnership with a friend.  We do antique estate liquidations, and I teach jazzercise.
Our family devotes our lives to God.  He has bestowed so many blessings on us.  Have a wonderful reunion and God bless you all.  Nancy Halsig Rust

I skipped the first couple of reunions and finally went to the 20th (if a fading memory serves).  Since then, haven't missed a one...  its a real feel good to connect with people after such a long absence.
I'll probably drive over from Chicago on that Saturday.
see y"all

I am so embarrassed to be the only one with a picture posted...it was late at night and seemed like a good idea at the time.  Please, someone else post pictures too.

Also, I would like to add my thanks to everyone who has kept us together all these years and is doing so yet again!

Some of you may recall Mikael Eliasen, the AFS exchange student from Denmark who stayed with my family during our junior year (1961-1962).  I have not seen him since the 60's though recently have reconnected by mail.  He is currently Artistic Director of Vocal Studies at the Curtis Institue of Music in Philadelphia.

Can't wait.  I'm anxious to see everyone since I was MIA for the last reunion.  George has never stopped giving me a bad time about that and swears I missed the time of my life.  Goodness knows, I'm not going to a) miss out on something that great again and b) give George something else to give me grief about for another 5 years.  (Love you, George!  Really!)

Hello to All! Well, I'm 63--same as the graduation year...can't be true!

Life is surely a blessing...married 40 years last month with the help of our loving God--couldn't have lasted that long without Him! We have a wonderful Schnauzer and a great Harley Softail and travel all over the world...just returned from the Amazon Rain Forest of Peru on a river boat for a week---amazing!
Hope you all are well and enjoying life!
Bob

I would like to thank all the people, for all the years service putting these class reunions together. It must be a tremendous amount of work gathering information on so many individuals. While I've never attended one, I do appreciate reading about old friends from years gone by.
My sincere appreciations.
Jack
